How to Add or Update Your Default Bank Account

Learn how to add a bank account and set it as the default for receiving payouts on Trellis.

Add a New Bank Account

  1. From your Dashboard, navigate to Payments.
  2. Click Add Account.
  3. Fill in your banking details in the fields provided.
  4. Click Save.

Set the Account as Default

When you set a new bank account as default, your next payout will direct to this new account. 

  1. Find the newly added bank account and click Edit.
  2. Select This is the default account for all currency.

Heads Up! Only one bank account can be set as the default at a time. Updating the default will apply to all future payouts.

Important: If you are deleting a bank account that is linked to your ongoing raffle please make sure you email support@trellis.org about the changes so we can update your raffle.

Frequently Asked Questions

We updated our bank account after a payout failed to our last one. Can we trigger the payout now?

The payout will automatically be triggered the following Monday business day, and will include funds from the failed payout as well as any newly cleared funds.

Can we use different bank accounts for different fundraisers?

Only organizations on our Enterprise plans can use different bank accounts for different fundraisers. 

We have a negative balance on our account from some refunds we processed. Where will those funds come from?

At the time of payout, if you have refunded more money than you have processed for that time period, the refunds will automatically be deducted from your default bank account.

We're running a raffle in Canada and had raffle funds disbursed to our general bank account - why?

In the rare case that you have a negative balance on your Stripe account because you have refunded more general funds than you have processed in raffle funds, those funds must be combined and deducted from your default bank account. 

For example, if you sell $100 in raffle tickets but refund $200 in event tickets in the same week, your payout balance is -$100. Stripe cannot payout $100 to your raffle bank account and deduct $200 from your default account. It will instead deduct $100 from your default account.
