How to Add a Custom Ticket Attachment to Your Event Tickets

This article walks through how to add your own custom event ticket PDF to your fundraiser, to be sent to ticket holders.

You can upload your own custom ticket or PDF attachment to send to ticket holders when tickets are assigned. This lets you deliver your own ticket design or additional materials directly to attendees.

Please Note:

Custom ticket attachments are not unique — they will not include a QR code, purchaser details, or ticket holder information. These attachments should be generic to the event or ticket type

If you need event ticket PDFs that are unique to the ticket holder, you must use the event tickets generated by Trellis.

Adding a Custom Ticket Attachment

  1. Go to your Fundraiser Builder.

  2. Open the Events section.

  3. Edit the ticket you want to add an attachment to.

  4. Scroll to Email Attachment.

  5. Upload your custom ticket or other PDF or image file.

  6. Repeat this for any other ticket types that should have attachments.

  7. Click Save for those tickets, then Publish.

  8. (Optional but recommended) Go to Checkout Options and disable Send Electronic Tickets if you are using your own custom ticket design. This prevents the system from generating the standard Trellis ticket alongside yours.

You can attach more than one file to each ticket type if you need to include multiple documents, such as a custom ticket and event instructions.

How It Works

When someone buys tickets, attachments are sent based on how those tickets are assigned:

  • If you buy multiple tickets and assign all to yourself, you’ll receive one copy of the attachment.

  • If you assign tickets to other people, each ticket holder will receive their own attachment.

  • If you don’t assign any tickets to yourself, only the assigned ticket holders will receive attachments.

Purchasers do not receive multiple copies of the same attachment. This is intentional, as this feature can be used for other attachments (that are not tickets). Since the Custom Ticket Attachment is not unique, the same document can be shared with multiple guests without issues.

FAQ

Can I attach different files to different ticket types?

Yes. Each ticket type has its own Email Attachment setting, allowing you to upload different files for each.

Can I add multiple attachments to one ticket?

Yes. You can upload more than one file under the Email Attachment setting.

When are attachments sent?

Attachments are automatically emailed to ticket holders when their tickets are assigned.

Why didn’t the purchaser receive multiple attachments for each ticket purchased?

Each attachment is sent once per ticket holder, not per ticket purchased. This is because the attachment is not unique, and can be sent to every ticket holder manually if the purchaser wishes.
