How to Assign Event Tickets to Your Guests and Check Them In
Assign your guests their own tickets so they can confirm their details and check in before the event.
If you've purchased tickets for an event, you can assign each ticket to a guest so they can confirm their own information, save a card, and check in ahead of time. This means less time spent in line when they arrive.
How to Assign a Ticket to a Guest
- Log in to your account on the fundraiser page.
- Click My Account in the top right corner, then select Event Registration.
- Find the ticket you want to assign and click Edit.
- Enter your guest's First Name, Last Name, and Email Address, plus any additional questions for the event.
- Click Save.
Please Note
-
Name and Email are used to automatically create accounts so payment methods can be securely saved. Always enter your guest's own information, never your own or placeholder details. If you don't know their email yet, leave it blank and come back later.
-
Once the event's assignment deadline passes, you won't be able to make further changes to who's assigned to each ticket.
Heads Up!
If two guests share the same email address, like a couple, or a parent bringing their kids, only one of them will be able to complete registration and check in online. The others will need to check in at the event.
How Your Guest Completes Their Registration
Once you've assigned a ticket, your guest gets an email with a link to complete their own registration. They'll:
- Confirm or update the questions you answered for them
- Add their phone number, and mailing address or company if the event asks for it
- Save a credit card, or skip this step if they don't plan on making purchases
How to Check In Ahead of the Event
If the event you are attending has enabled self check-in, you can use the same flow to mark yourself as attending.
- Return to your registration link (or log in to your account) and click Check In.
- You'll see your table and paddle number on screen if the event uses them.
- You'll get a text message confirming their check-in.
Please Note
You can only check in ahead of the event if your registration is complete. If registration is incomplete for you or your guests, you must check in at the event.
How to Check In One of Your Guests
If your guest can't check in by themselves, you can do it for them.
- From Event Registration, find their ticket and click Check In. This is only available once check-in has opened for the event and if they completed their profile.
- To undo a check-in, click Undo Check-In.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my guest change the email address on their ticket?
No. Only you, the purchaser, can reassign a ticket to a different email address.
Is a credit card required to check in?
No. Your guest can skip adding a card and still complete registration and check in. However, we strongly recommend everyone saves a credit card to their account, to make purchases and bidding much easier during the event.
What if my guest doesn't have an email address?
Leave the email field blank when assigning their ticket. Without an email, they won't receive a registration link and won't be able to complete registration or check in online, so they'll need to check in at the event instead.
What if my guest can't make it after the assignment deadline has passed?
Reach out to the event organizer directly.
What if I or my guest need to change any answers after the deadline passes?
Custom field responses, like meal choice or allergies, can't be edited once the assignment deadline passes. Reach out to the event organizer directly if you need to change them.
Please Note: Contact info and credit card details are different. Your guest can still update those any time before they check in.
