How to Close Ticket Sales or Registration
Learn how to stop new ticket or item sales without taking your event page offline.
Sometimes you need to close registration or stop selling a specific item while keeping your event page live. Instead of unpublishing the whole page, you can hide individual tickets or items so they disappear from public view but stay accessible on your end.
How to Close Sales or Registration
- From your fundraiser builder, navigate to Event Tickets > Edit Ticket
- Find the Visibility setting and change it to Hidden.
- Click Save, then Publish Changes in the top-right corner.
- Repeat for any other tickets or items you want to remove from sale.
Once hidden, the ticket or item is removed from your event page, but you can still access it through the Sales Entry System or Check-In Tool if you need to make further purchases on someone's behalf.
Heads Up!
Hiding a ticket or item does not remove it from carts that already contain it. Anyone who added it before you hid it can still complete their purchase. If you're concerned about pending carts, consider lowering your event capacity so no further tickets can be sold.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we just delete a ticket or item?
Since tickets and items have inventory that is tracked by the platform, it is not possible to delete them after sales have been made.
Will hiding a ticket cancel purchases already in progress?
No. If someone has the ticket or item in their cart already, they can still check out even after you hide it.
Can I still sell a hidden ticket myself?
Yes. Hidden tickets and items remain available through the Sales Entry System and Check-In Tool.
Does hiding a ticket unpublish my event page?
No. Your event page stays live. Only the specific ticket or item you hide is removed from public view.
Could we use the sales end date instead?
Yes, if you need a full stop of all sales. Setting a sales end date will prevent all sales after that date and remove tickets and items from all carts, even ones being managed via the Check-In Tool. If you plan on selling additional tickets or items at your event, we don't recommend using this option.
Can donation options be hidden as well?
Since donation options do not have inventory that is tracked, you can delete these options if you no longer want to offer them. Past sales data will still be retained, even after deleted.
