How to Donate Your Bid During a Silent Auction

If you're a bidder with a big heart, this feature is perfect for you. With Donate Your Bid, you can show your support to the charity you're passionate about even if you don't win the item.

Imagine you've bid $100 on an item but another bidder wins. With "Donate Your Bid," you have the option to automatically convert your bid into a $100 donation to support the organization you care about. If you increase your bid to $120, you can choose to donate $120 instead, or stick with the $100 donation. It's the most convenient way to show your support and ensure that the organization you care about always wins!

How to Donate Your Bid for a One Time Bid

1. When you bid on a silent auction item, you’ll be asked if you want to donate your bid amount if you don’t win. You have the option to donate the entire bid amount or choose the specific amount you would like to donate using the slider feature.
   
   
2. If you decide to raise your bid amount, you can increase your donation to match the new bid, keep the old donated bid amount, or set a new specific amount using the slider feature. Only one bid per auction item can be donated.
   
3. At the end of the auction, if you aren’t the highest bidder, your donated bid amount will be converted to a donation and automatically processed. 
4. If you choose not to donate, we’ll give you the opportunity to donate during your next bid, in case you change your mind!
   
   

How to Donate Your Bid with a Max Auto-Bid

1. When you place an auto-bid, you have the option to donate the entire max bid amount or choose the specific amount you would like to donate using the slider.
2. If you choose to donate all or a portion of your max bid, your next auto-bid will have a donation icon beside it to remind you of your donation.
3. If you change or renew your auto-bid, you have the option to donate your new max bid.

How to View and Cancel a Bid Donation

1. You can see any of the bids you have pledged to donate from the bidding history table on an auction item page. Only you can see that you have donated your bid.
   
2. By clicking on update your donate bid, you can cancel your donation at any time until the auction closes.
   
3. You can also view all your bids and donations from your donor account by viewing your bidding history from your account, and toggling off any donated bids.
