[Auction Close](https://help.trellis.org/silent-live-auctions?hsLang=en#auction-close) # How to Refund and Remove a Live Auction Item from a Winner’s Cart ## Learn how to refund a live auction purchase and remove the item from the winner’s cart so it can’t be paid for again. If a live auction winner needs a refund, you’ll need to complete two steps: issue the refund, then remove the item from their cart. Refunding an item on its own returns it to the winner’s cart, which allows them to complete the payment again. ### **How to Refund and Remove a Live Auction Item** #### **Step 1: Issue the Refund** Follow the steps in [How to Issue a Full Refund](https://help.trellis.org/how-to-issue-a-full-refund?hsLang=en) or How to [Issue an Itemized Refund](https://help.trellis.org/how-to-issue-an-itemized-partial-refund?hsLang=en) to refund the winner’s payment. **Heads Up!** Once refunded, the live auction item is automatically added back to the winner’s cart. Complete Step 2 to make sure the winner isn’t able to pay for the item again. #### **Step 2: Remove the Item from the Winner’s Cart** 1. Navigate to **Dashboard \> Results \> Auctions \> Bids**. 2. In the top-right corner, select the relevant fundraiser from the dropdown. 3. Search for the winner using their name, email address, listing ID, or item name. 4. Once you’ve located the bid, click the **three-dot menu**. 5.
