How to Remove a Complimentary Ticket Holder From Your Check-In Tool

Learn how to remove a comp ticket holder from your Check-In tool.

How to Remove a Complimentary Ticket Holder

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Results and click All Transactions.
  2. Search for the transaction using the attendee's name, email, or checkout ID.
  3. Click the 3-dots menu on the right of the transaction and select Issue Refund.
  4. From the Refund a Checkout page, under Refund Type, select Full Refund.
  5. Confirm the Total To Refund amount shows $0.00, since no payment was collected for a complimentary ticket.
  6. Select a reason for the refund: Request By Customer, Duplicate, or Fraudulent.
  7. Choose whether to send a confirmation email to the attendee.
  8. Click Refund.

Heads Up: Attendees cannot be deleted. Issuing a refund is the only way to remove someone from your Check-In tool, even when no payment is involved.

Please Note: Since this is a $0 refund, no tax receipt or payment is affected. This process is only for removing the attendee, not for handling a paid ticket. If the attendee paid for their ticket, see How to Issue a Full Refund.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the attendee get a refund notification email?

You can choose whether to send a confirmation email when you issue the $0 refund.

Does this free up my ticket inventory?

Yes. Removing a complimentary ticket holder this way returns the ticket to your available inventory, the same as a standard refund does.
