How to Set Up a Template Fundraiser

Save time on future fundraisers by building a template you can duplicate.

If you run recurring fundraisers, setting up a template can save significant setup time. By building a fundraiser designed to be duplicated, you can carry over your page design, donation options, event tickets, RE NXT settings, and items without starting from scratch each time.

How to Set Up a Template Fundraiser

Step 1: Build your template fundraiser

  1. Create a new fundraiser in Trellis as you normally would.
  2. Set up the elements you want to reuse:
    • Page Design (sections, layout, branding, colors)
    • Donation Options
    • Event Tickets
    • Items for Sale
    • RE NXT Settings
  3. Give the fundraiser a clear name to identify it as a template (e.g., Annual Gala Template).
  4. Keeping the fundraiser paused, click Save, then Publish Changes.

Please Note: Auctions and raffles are not duplicated. If your fundraiser includes these, you will need to set them up manually after duplicating.

Step 2: Duplicate the template for a new fundraiser

  1. From your Trellis dashboard, locate your template fundraiser.
  2. Click the 3-Dot Icon on the fundraiser, then select Duplicate.

Step 3: Update the new fundraiser's details

After duplicating, make sure to review and update the following before publishing:

  1. Navigate to Page Design and update the fundraiser name and any relevant branding.
  2. Go to Social Sharing settings and update the page URL to reflect the new fundraiser name.
  3. Review any other details specific to the new event (dates, ticket prices, etc.).
  4. Click Save, then Publish Changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What gets duplicated when I copy a fundraiser?

The fundraiser page design and all fundraiser settings get duplicated. Event tickets and settings, donation options, custom donation, FAN giving levels, items for sale, promo codes, custom fields, and RE NXT integration settings also get duplicated.

What does not get duplicated?

Auctions and Canadian ERS raffles are not carried over. You will need to recreate these in the new fundraiser.

Do I need to publish my template fundraiser for duplication to work?

Yes, you must publish your fundraiser in order for those changes to be duplicated. You do not need to make your fundraiser Live. You can keep it Paused or Archived
