What our RE NXT Integration Covers

Reconciling your fundraiser data with Raiser's Edge NXT used to mean days or weeks of manual work after your event. Our RE NXT integration is built to change that. By automatically syncing transactions, constituents, gifts, and event participants in real time, your team can close the books in hours instead of days, and spend the time saved on what actually moves the needle: analyzing donor behavior, strengthening relationships, and driving more revenue for your mission.

Currently Included

Constituent Match

1. Auto-sync transactions into Trellis either as they are made, or once they are paid out (configurable)
2. Auto-sync ticket holders as event participants once they are fully assigned
3. Sophisticated match algorithm to automatically match to existing Individual or Organization constituents, or create a new one if no match is found
4. Syncing new contact information onto matched constituent records, with configurable labels.
5. Basic address standardization to Canada Post and USPS standards.
6. Never deleting, overwriting, or merging existing constituent data.
7. Default to creating non-constituents for non-purchasing ticket holders, to preserve database constituent limits
8. Configurable spouse match settings, to sync gift to the purchaser spouse or non-purchaser spouse, if purchaser is non-constituent or not head of household
9. Constituent code addition to new Individual and Organization constituents.
10. Automatic relationship creation between individual and organization when purchases are made on behalf of companies.
11. Control over whether ticket holders sync to RE NXT. 
12. Extensive audit log export that records all sync actions for oversight and review.
13. Constituent lookup for Sales-Entry-System purchases, to speed up backoffice checkouts.

Gift Syncing

1. Control over whether free ($0) gifts sync to RE NXT. 
2. Gift type and subtype configurations by fundraising driver (Event Tickets, Auctions, Donations, etc)
3. Campaign, Fund, Appeal and Package settings either for the entire fundraiser, by driver type (Event Tickets, Auctions, Donations, etc) or for specific drivers. Allows for fine-tuned control over gift funds.
4. Receipt status, amount, and number automatically updates when tax receipted on Trellis.
5. Can choose not to sync gifts for offline purchases being entered into Trellis, if gift already exists in RE NXT.
6. Deleting and recreating a gift on an individual to an organization constituent if the purchase switches in Trellis.
7. Payout date syncs as custom field on gift once paid out, for easier reconciliation.
8. Spouses are automatically soft credited on gifts.
9. Credit card is synced as payment method for online purchases.
10. Trellis checkout ID and location of sale on Trellis syncs as gift custom fields.
11. GL Post Date set to estimated payout date or estimated bank arrival date (depending on when gift syncs). Status set to Not Posted. 

Events Module

1. Can create or connect to an existing event in RE NXT
2. Ticket purchasers sync as attending or non-attending host of participants
3. Ticket holders sync as attending participants
4. Event participant fees sync to ticket purchaser participant
5. Other fees sync to purchasing event participants
6. Participants are automatically updated if attendees are reassigned in Trellis
7. Participants are marked as attended when checked in on Trellis
8. Trellis custom fields sync as participant options on event.

Considering for Future Improvements

The features in this section are on our radar because they align with our goal of reducing manual effort and giving your team better visibility into your data. We're weighing each one against technical feasibility and the breadth of impact across our customer base, and we'll continue to prioritize improvements that save the most time for the most organizations.

1. Advanced constituent match algorithm that considers all match criteria options, with 98-100% accuracy. (Currently in progress).
2. Visible errors and troubleshooting steps with resyncing control. (Currently in progress)
3. Editing gift amount when refunds are issued on Trellis
4. Set receipt series when tax receipted on Trellis - not currently available for integration but has been requested of RE NXT.
5. Configuring CFAP for Fund-a-Need donations
6. Updating the Acknowledgement status for gifts
7. Pre-screening for non-perfect constituent matches before creating duplicates
8. Constituent lookup when assigning attendees in the Check-In Tool (backoffice)
9. Multi-select and resync controls from the dashboard.
10. Ability to disable gift syncing for specific fundraising drivers
11. Visibility when constituents are merged in RE NXT to update our memory for correct constituent matching in the future - not currently available for integration
12. Incorporate Participation Level on event participant sync.
13. Sync tax receipt PDF on receipted gifts.
14. Fundraising and donor insights/summary from Trellis fundraisers in RE NXT. 

Not Included

The features in this section are not planned to be a part of our integration. Some go against our core philosophy, since they would introduce manual steps or decision points that slow your team down rather than speed them up. Others are too specific to individual database configurations to build in a way that works reliably across organizations. In both cases, the trade-off in complexity isn't worth the limited impact.

1. Syncing gifts into a batch
2. Automatically setting receipt stack for gifts tax receipted on Trellis (Canadian organizations only)
3. Two-way syncing (changes in Raiser's Edge NXT updating Trellis data)
4. Using BBMS as a payment processor on Trellis
5. Deleting gifts, constituents, or event participants from Trellis.
6. Switching which constituent a transaction matched to.
7. Sync two separate gifts if fundraising driver like Event Tickets has tax receipted portion
8. Support to add more than one constituent code for new constituents
9. Integrating with RE NXT's pledge system for committed and unpaid gifts
10. Setting different gift subtypes depending on if the purchaser is an individual or organization
11. Control which Trellis organization users can configure RE NXT settings
12. Add unique custom fields that sync on gifts under certain conditions.
13. Support for Gift Code or Donation Code
14. Syncing credit card type (Visa, Mastercard) on gift. 
15. Controlling whether Trellis custom field responses sync to RE NXT.
16. Sync title, general, and marital status to constituents. 
17. Controlling whether donor-covered fees appear as separate gift or same gift as fundraising drivers.

Our RE NXT integration is designed to get out of your way. The goal has always been to eliminate the reconciliation burden so your team walks away from every fundraiser ready to act on data, not buried in it. As we continue to grow the integration, that philosophy stays the same: less manual work, more time for the moments that matter.
