Understanding Trellis' 0% Transaction Fees Option

When enabled, Trellis will cover all transaction fees on eligible checkouts, ensuring you keep 100% of your funds. In exchange, donors will be asked if they’d like to support Trellis during checkout.

How 0% Transaction Fees Works

When 0% Transaction Fees are enabled, all transaction fees on eligible checkouts are covered by Trellis. In exchange, we ask your donors for optional support at the time of purchase. If your donors choose not to support Trellis, we will still cover your transaction fees - so there's no risk to you!

Below is an example of what your donors will see during checkout:

Eligible Checkouts:

  • Checkouts made by donors via the standard checkout flow for event tickets, items for sale, donations, and Canadian ERS raffle tickets (new).

    • This includes any pledges for donations or items for sale.

Not Eligible (Yet):

  • Checkouts processed by your organization on behalf of a donor, via the Sales Entry System or the Check-In Tool.

  • Checkouts made by donors using the Fund-a-Need / Paddle Raise feature
  • Checkouts made by donors through the standard checkout flow that are over $3,000.
  • Silent auction auto-payments. (However, if an auto-payment fails, then the donor can purchase through the standard checkout flow and 0% fees will be eligible)

For any checkouts that do not qualify for 0% Transaction Fees, you can configure who covers the fees in your Fee Settings.

Trellis is planning on implementing 0% Transaction Fees across other checkouts in the future!

How to Enable 0% Transaction Fees

1. From the Fundraiser Builder, navigate to Fundraiser Settings > Fees

2. Enable 0% Transaction Fees by turning on the toggle.
