How to donate your bid if you don't win the item

If you're a bidder with a big heart, this feature is perfect for you. With Donate Your Bid, you can show your support to the charity you're passionate about even if you don't win the item. It's a fantastic way to give back and make a positive impact, with no extra effort required from you.

Imagine you've bid $100 on an item but another bidder wins. With "Donate Your Bid," you have the option to automatically convert your bid into a $100 donation to support the organization you care about. If you increase your bid to $120, you can choose to donate $120 instead, or stick with the $100 donation. It's the most convenient way to show your support and ensure that the organization you care about always wins!

How it works for regular bids:

1. When you bid on a silent auction item, you’ll be asked if you want to donate your bid amount if you don’t win. 
   
2. If you choose to donate: 
• At the end of the auction, if you aren’t the highest bidder, your bid amount will be converted to a donation and automatically processed. 
• If you increase your bid amount, you’ll be asked if you want to increase your donation to this new bid amount. Only one bid per auction item can be donated.
  
• You can see any of the bids you’ve pledged to donate from the bidding history table. Only you can see that you’ve donated your bid.
  
• By clicking on update your donate bid, you can cancel your donation at any time until the auction closes.
  
  
  
3. If you choose not to donate:
• We’ll give you the opportunity to donate during your next bid, in case you change your mind!
  
  

How it works for auto-bidding:

1. When you place a maximum bid amount to auto-bid, you’ll be asked if you would like to donate the highest placed bid if you don’t win.
   
2. If you choose to donate: 
• Every time a new auto-bid is placed for you, that new bid will be marked for donation if you don’t win. Only your highest placed bid will be donated, up to your max amount.
  
• If you change or renew your auto-bid, you have the option to donate your new max bid.
  
• You can see any of the bids you’ve pledged to donate from the bidding history table. Only you can see that you’ve donated your bid.
• You can cancel your donation at any time until the auction closes.
