How to Donate Your Bid During a Silent Auction

If you're a bidder with a big heart, this feature is perfect for you! With Donate Your Bid, you can continue supporting your favourite charity even if you don't win the item.

Imagine if you bid $100 on an item but another bidder wins, you can choose to automatically convert your bid into a $100 donation. If you later increase your bid to $120, you can donate $120 instead—or stick with the original $100. It’s a simple way to ensure the organization you care about always benefits!

How to Donate Your Bid for a One Time Bid

When you bid on a silent auction item, you’ll be asked if you want to donate your bid amount if you don’t win.

• You can choose to donate the entire bid amount or set a specific donation amount using the slider feature.

• If you raise your bid, you can:

  • Increase your donation to match the new bid.

  • Keep the original donation amount.

  • Set a new donation amount using the slider.

• Note: Only one bid per auction item can be donated.

At the end of the auction, if you aren’t the highest bidder, your donation will be processed automatically.
If you initially choose not to donate, you’ll have the option to donate during your next bid.

How to Donate Your Bid with a Max Auto-Bid

When placing an auto-bid:

• You can choose to donate the entire max bid amount or set a specific donation amount using the slider.

  

• If you donate all or part of your max bid, a donation icon will appear beside your auto-bid as a reminder.

  

• If you change or renew your auto-bid, you can adjust your donation amount.

How to View and Cancel a Bid Donation

• You can view bids you’ve pledged to donate in the bidding history table on the auction item page (only you can see your donation status).

  • Click Update Your Donate Bid at any time before the auction closes.

  
  

• To view all bids and donations:

  • Go to your donor account, view your bidding history, and toggle off any donated bids.
