How Overtime Bidding Works for Silent Auctions
Overtime bidding helps prevent last-minute “sniping” by automatically extending the bidding window on popular items.
How It Works
-
When Overtime Bidding is enabled, any bid placed within the final 2 minutes of the auction will trigger a 2-minute extension for that individual item.
-
Once the auction officially ends, the countdown timer starts for each applicable item.
-
Any new bid during this time resets the countdown back to 2 minutes.
-
Bidding continues until there is a full 2-minute period with no additional bids.
-
All participants, including auto-bidders, can place bids during overtime.
-
If the item has a Buy Now price, it can still be purchased outright during this period.
How to Enable Overtime Bidding
-
From your Fundraiser Builder, go to Silent and Live Auctions.
-
Select Auction Settings, then under Auction Upsells, toggle on Overtime Bidding.

That’s it! The system will automatically manage overtime for any qualifying silent auction items.
