How Tax Receipts Work with the Raiser's Edge Integration

This article explains how Tax Receipts work with our Raiser's Edge Integration, including Receipt Stack.

How Tax Receipts Work with the Raiser's Edge Integration

If the donor purchases something on Trellis that has a tax receipted amount, here's how that will appear in Raiser's Edge:

Raiser's Edge Value Value Set from Trellis
Gift Amount Full Price of Purchasable (Advantage + Tax Receipt Amount)
Receipt Amount Tax Receipt Amount
Receipt Number The receipt number (not including prefix) of the receipt generated on Trellis
Receipt Status

Receipted: Receipt was generated on Trellis.

Needs Receipt: Receipt was not generated on Trellis.

Do Not Receipt: There is no tax receipted amount.

    Please Note:

At this time, it is not possible to create two gifts for Trellis purchasables that are split receipted.

For example, if an event ticket has an advantage of $100 and tax receipt amount of $50, one gift will be created for $150 using your settings for event tickets.

    What is Receipt Stack?

Receipt Stack is a database view field that allows organizations to track where tax receipts are generated using a prefix.

This article from Blackbaud explains more about the Receipt Stack field.

    Please Note:

    1. Receipt stack only appears in database view. Web view uses a different label called Receipt Series.
    2. Receipt stack is only available for Canadian organizations.

How to Set Up Receipt Stack in the Integration

    1. From the dashboard, go to Integrations > Raiser's Edge > Settings.

    2. Under Gift Sync settings, find "Tax Receipt Stack"

    Please Note:

You will only see this field if your organization on Trellis is located in Canada.

    3. Enter the value you would like to appear as Receipt Stack.

    • Due to limitations with Blackbaud's API, you cannot select from existing Receipt Stack values in your Raiser's Edge account.

    4. Click save, and complete the rest of your integration settings.
