How to Manage Your Pledges After an Event

If you accepted pledges during your event for items for sale and fund-a-need donations and now need to collect payment, this article will walk you through how to view outstanding pledges and follow up with attendees.

How to View Pledges

  1. From your dashboard sidebar, select Results > Pledges.
  2. From this page, select a fundraiser from the top right corner.
  3. In the table, you can view the following information for each pledge:
    1. Details around the pledge such as the payment status and date of pledge.
    2. Information about the attendee who made the pledge, such as their contact information and whether they have a credit card saved on their account.
    3. The content of the pledge, such as the name of the item for sale, or the donation type, and the pledge amount.
  4. You can filter this table to hide pledges that have been paid for, so you only see outstanding payments.

How to Follow Up For Pledges

  1. From the Pledge Table, find the pledge you want to manage and click the 3 Dot Icon on the far right hand side.
  2. From the menu, you can:
    1. Send Payment Link: This sends a payment link automatically to the attendee's email. If we have their phone number, we also send a text message. The payment link leads the attendee directly into the checkout to purchase everything that is in their cart, which includes both pledges and regular cart items.
    2. Mark As Paid: This creates an Offline Checkout for the pledge and removes it from the attendee's cart. You can select what payment type is being accepted (Cash, Cheque, Offline Card, Other). 
      1. If you select this option, you will not be able to accept payment on Trellis via credit card at a later point.
    3. View/Edit Cart: This option redirects you to the check-in tool to view the attendee. This option is disabled if there is no attendee.
    4. Charge Card: This charges the credit card that is on file for the attendee. This option is disabled if the attendee does not have a saved credit card.
    5. Delete Pledge: This removes the pledge from the attendees cart. 
  3. You can also request payment from all attendees with outstanding pledges at once by clicking the Send Payment Links button in the top right corner.
