How to Move a Gift from an Organization to an Individual Constituent

This article shares how to move a gift in Raiser's Edge from an individual to an organization constituent (and vice versa) within Trellis.

When donors make a purchase, they can indicate if that purchase is on behalf of a company. If yes, the gift will sync to the organization constituent in Raiser's Edge NXT.

If the donor was moving quickly and made the purchase on behalf of a company (or forgot to) by mistake, our system allows you to change whether a checkout was made by a company or not, and that will automatically move the gift in Raiser's Edge NXT.

How to Move a Gift from an Organization Constituent (and Vice Versa)

  1. Ensure auto-sync is enabled for your fundraiser
  2. From the dashboard, go to Results > All Transactions.
  3. Find the transaction that you want to edit.
  4. Click the icon on the far right to view the checkout details. 
  5. From the Checkout Details page, under Purchaser click the Edit button.
  6. Enable or disable the toggle "Purchase is on behalf of a company"

  7. Click Save in the top right corner to save all changes. 
  8. This triggers the sync process:
    1. The current gift is deleted, and a new gift is created on the correct constituent.
  9. If you ever need to move the gift back, you can repeat the above steps.
