Passcodes allow you to control who can view and purchase specific tickets on your fundraiser page. This is useful for tickets intended for VIPs, volunteers, or sponsors, and gives you full control over visibility and access.
Creating a Passcode to Reveal Hidden Tickets
-
Edit the ticket you want to restrict access to by clicking the pencil icon
-
Under Advanced > Ticket Visibility, change the setting to Hidden
-
Scroll down to the Passcodes section and click Add a Passcode
Fill out the following fields:
-
Passcode – The code purchasers will enter to reveal the hidden ticket. We recommend using a code without spaces (e.g., VIP204)
-
Max Tickets Per Purchase – The number of tickets a purchaser can buy in one transaction
-
Max Tickets Per Passcode – The total number of tickets that can be purchased using that code (across all purchasers)
Once added:
-
You’ll be able to see how many tickets have been sold using each passcode
-
Click the edit icon to make changes to the passcode settings at any time
-
After publishing your fundraiser, click the copy link button to share a pre-filled URL that auto-reveals the hidden ticket using the passcode
Purchasers can also manually enter a passcode during checkout to unlock the restricted ticket.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I create a passcode that reveals multiple hidden tickets?
Yes. To do this, use the same passcode text for each of the hidden tickets.
Can I create a passcode that also applies a discount?
Yes, to do so you must set up the passcode for the hidden ticket and also set up a promo code for the same ticket. Use the same code text to make it apply
Can I enter more than one passcode during the checkout?
Yes. Multiple passcodes can be entered to reveal different hidden tickets. Please note, only one promo code can apply per checkout. If multiple passcodes trigger promo codes, only the most recent will apply.
Can a passcode apply to something other than an event ticket?
Not at this time. Passcodes currently only apply to event tickets.
What happens if I only have passcode tickets available for sale on my fundraiser?
When donors go to the page where they select tickets, there will be a blank state prompting them to enter their passcode. To avoid this blank state, we recommend you share the link generated by the passcode that pre-applies it when the donor clicks the link.
