How to Use Pledging on Trellis for a Live Event

With this Trellis feature, event attendees will be able to instantly participate in your fundraising event without adding in their credit card information to purchase items or make a donation in the fund-a-need.

 

The pledging feature is designed to help make it even easier for your attendees to participate instantly in your upcoming fundraisers even if they have not set up their Giving Account yet on Trellis. 
The Giving Account includes their contact information and credit card details, which allows you to instantly charge their credit cards when a purchase is made, or automatically charge their credit card when they have won auction items.

  • Event attendees will be able to use our pledging or "Buy Now, Pay Later" feature to purchase items. To start, they'll click Items, and select the "Buy Now" option, which asks them to provide a full name and email address. After the event, they will be sent a link with payment instructions to complete their purchase. 
  • For a Fund-a-Need, guests will be able to commit a "pledge" to your organization, again only providing a full name and email address to make a pledge. Their name will appear in the Fund-a-Need view, and will also be included in the thermometer on your main fundraising page. Again, after the event, they will be sent a link to add their payment details. 
  • The "Buy Now, Pay Later" and Pledging features will only work when the Event Date for your event is currently live, meaning your event is currently running. Prior to the event, purchasers will still complete a checkout like usual. 

 

Note: The "Buy Now, Pay Later" or "Pledging" features cannot be used for Canadian ERS approved raffles or 50/50's hosted on Trellis. 

 

By using the Trellis  "Buy Now, Pay Later" and Pledging features, event attendees will be able to instantly participate in your fundraiser during the event. This will allow you to easier raise more funds, and make the donor experience even more seamless for your donors.
