How Payments Are Processed for Silent Auctions (Auction Autopay)

Trellis uses Auction Autopay to automatically charge winning bidders at the end of your silent auction. This saves your team the time and effort of manually following up to collect payments.

To participate in a silent auction, all bidders must log in or sign up and securely save a credit card to their account. Once your auction ends, Trellis will automatically charge each winning bidder's card for their items.

This process begins immediately when the auction closes—based on the date and time set in your auction settings.

Important:

Once the auction ends, it cannot be reopened and credit cards will be automatically charged. Double-check your closing time before publishing.

If a bidder’s card fails to process, the system will:

You’ll be able to track which payments failed and take follow-up actions using your Results > Bids section in the dashboard.

Once payments are processed, you can focus on reconciling your numbers and preparing for item pick-up or delivery.

Note:

Trellis does not support disabling autopay or sending invoices for payment collection. All auctions use automatic payment processing by default.
