This article explains how to remove an attendee from your event without issuing a monetary refund.
If someone can no longer attend your event and wants to donate their ticket (e.g. to be reused or re-sold), you can remove them as an attendee and from all future communications without issuing a monetary refund.
The best way to do this is to issue a $0 itemized refund and return the ticket to inventory. This ensures:
-
The attendee is no longer listed in your check-in tool.
-
They will not receive any further emails intended for attendees, ticket holders, or ticket purchasers.
-
The ticket becomes available again for someone else to purchase or use.
Steps to Issue a $0 Itemized Refund
-
From the Dashboard > Results > All Transactions, find to the attendee’s checkout.
- Click the box and arrow icon to view checkout details.
-
Click Refund.
-
From the dropdown, select Itemized Refund.
-
In the table, find the ticket assigned to the attendee you want to refund.
-
On that ticket, ensure the refund amount is set to $0. Do not check the Full checkbox.
-
Check the box to Return to Inventory.
-
Complete the refund.
- The purchaser will receive a refund receipt and email, notifying them of the change.
That’s it—the ticket is now removed from the attendee record and returned to your available ticket pool. This individual will no longer appear in your Check-In Tool and will not be included in any further email communication to ticket holders/attendees.
