Testing your Ticket or Items for Sale Purchase

In this article, we will guide you on how to test and have the full donor experience when purchasing event tickets or items for sale

In order to test your event tickets or items for sale and understand the donor experience, as well as verify the copies they receive like the receipt and event tickets, you will need to use our promo code feature. Please note that you cannot test the Tax Receipt since it is meant to be a free purchase.

1. Login to your Trellis account.
2. Setup your free promo code. See sample below for reference:

3. Hit Publish Changes.

4. Go to your live page and purchase the event ticket or items for sale you want to test.

5. Paste the promo code you just created and proceed hit Apply and proceed with your checkout.


We want to make sure that you have a way to feel confident about your page after it goes live without having to use your card. Please note that if you decide to use your card for a test transaction, depending on how you have set up your fees, either your card or the organization will be charged a fee by Stripe. Unfortunately, we won't be able to refund this fee for you.
