Complimentary tickets are great if you have sponsors, volunteers, staff or others who need access to the event, but don’t have to pay.
The complimentary ticket means that the attendee will appear in the check-in app and count towards your inventory total, but won’t count towards your fundraiser’s earnings! When you create your fundraiser, you will see a list of tickets that are created for the event by default. One of these tickets includes a Complimentary Ticket that is Hidden - meaning donors can’t purchase these tickets directly from your live website, but you can use those tickets when you request for a bulk upload or add attendees into the check-in tool.
How to use a complimentary ticket:
1. Login to your Trellis account.
2. On your Dashboard, click edit under the fundraiser page you want to sell your event tickets.
3. Click Edit Event Tickets.
4. Simply click on the pencil icon located on the right side of your complimentary ticket to make any necessary edits.
5. Make sure you update your complimentary ticket details such as the number of Tickets Available and Description.
6. Set the ticket price to $0. That way, this ticket won’t count towards your fundraiser’s Gross Total
7. Under “Advanced”
-
- For visibility, select “Hidden”. This means that the ticket will not appear for your donors to purchase, but it will appear in the builder, dashboard, and Event and Sales Manager, which you can use for check-in.
Here are the different ways you can use the complimentary ticket:
- When you bulk upload attendees into the check-in tool, you can enter the name of your complimentary ticket type in the “Ticket Type” column, to assign these attendees to that ticket
- When you add an attendee from the check-in tool, you can select any of your available tickets for that attendee, including the hidden ticket
- When you are using the Sales Entry System to sell tickets, you can select any of your available tickets for purchase, including the hidden ticket
