This article is a great place to start if you are new to the Raiser's Edge Integration and want a high level overview of how it works.
The Raiser's Edge integration with Trellis is designed to streamline your workflow by automatically syncing transaction data from Trellis into Raiser's Edge.
The integration process consists of three main parts:
- Constituent Matching
- Gift Syncing
- Event Participant Syncing
Read on for more about each step in the process.
1. Constituent Matching
The first step in the sync process is matching constituents. Using the contact information provided from each transaction on Trellis, the integration attempts to find an existing constituent in Raiser's Edge. If a match is not found, it will create a new one. This process works for both individuals and companies/organizations.
You have the flexibility to configure how the constituent match process operates, ensuring it aligns with your organization's preferences and existing Raiser's Edge setup.

2. Gift Syncing
Once a constituent is identified or created, the next step is syncing gifts. Transaction data from Trellis is used to create gifts on the constituent record in Raiser's Edge.
This step includes additional settings to ensure that the gifts appear as expected. For example, you can:
-
Configure how multiple quantities of the same purchasable are handled (e.g., syncing as one gift or separate gifts).
-
Specify how gift types, funds, and campaigns are assigned.
These options give you control over how donation and transaction data are recorded.

3. Event Participant Syncing
The final step in the integration process is syncing event participants into the Raiser's Edge Events module. Ticket holders assigned in Trellis will sync as participants in Raiser's Edge. This process uses the same system as the constituent match process and allows you to track:
-
Which constituents attended your event.
-
The fees and payments the purchaser made.

Benefits of the Integration
-
Time-Saving: Automates data entry, reducing the administrative burden.
-
Accuracy: Minimizes the risk of errors from manual input.
-
Efficiency: Keeps your Raiser's Edge database up to date with no extra effort.
This integration simplifies the management of transactions, gifts, and event participants, allowing you to focus more on engaging donors and running successful events.
Please Note:
The integration is a one-way linear sync, meaning changes in Raiser's Edge do not flow back into Trellis.
